Q. How to send Bentley Licensing Tool logs (BLT) for review by AutoPIPE technical support?


Be sure and sign into CONNECTION Client, and use the following steps to gather BLT log files:

Step 0:

First enable the feature to allow logging, Open BLT by pressings "Win key + S" to open the search bar for windows, type "Bentley Licensing Tool", select app at the top in the listing provided, left mouse click on Open

Next, select Tools> Options> after the dialog opens select the Error Logging tab and enable the Client Logging ON radio button. Press Apply and close dialog.

Step 1:

There are 3 ways of starting Bentley Log collector:

Option #1:

1. Open Connection Client

2. Located in the top right corner of the application, select the circle with initials inside of it

3. From the drop down listing, choose Log Collector

Option #2:

1. Select Windows Start

2. Type "Bentley Log Collector" and select the application shortcut to start the software as seen below:

Option #3:

Type "Run" in search bar and select the "Run" application

    

 Type "%CommonProgramFiles%\Bentley Shared\CONNECTION Client\LogCollector.exe"

Press OK to continue. 

Step 2:

Another dialog, press the Collect button

Step 3:

Provide a log file name and  location to save the log files, Suggest the "user name - SR number" and save to the Desktop

Press Save button to continue

Step4: 

After all the files have been processed, the following will appear, press OK

Step 5:

Send log files as an attachment to the service ticket back to Bentley for review.
