OpenGround has many modules. This session focuses on two: Professional and Data Entry. Referring back to Onboarding Session One - Professional, there is a lot in Professional: Dynamic Ribbons, Data Tree, Mapping, and more. It is a terrific tool for reviewing reports, producing reports, mapping, querying and understanding data, etc. It is not, however, efficient for data entry for someone in an office and reading data from a field log.
The Data Entry application, however, was designed with just that in mind: efficient data entry. Once in a project there are notable differences from Professional:
1) Different data entry profiles to select based on what data is being entered for (Soil/Rock drilling, Lab, Test Pit, etc).
2) Tabs are in orange already indicating they are automatically in data entry mode
3) No dynamic ribbon to find/access
4) Steps to walk users through the data entry process set up with entering data as read from a log
Continuing deeper in to the steps, multiple tabs that are related can be grouped in to a single step.
Each step is customizable. Tabs can be removed, or moved to a different step. Also, individual tabs in a step can be used in different data entry profiles.
Task: Go ahead and enter data using the data entry profile if you have not. Get a feel for the default. And understand what you may need to change for your organizations.

Once you have a feel, you can learn how to create and modify grids, manage steps, and manage profiles in Communities.
