Branch piping is not connected to the main header pipe on converted PCF file. As seen in the following screen shot, Group 5 (segments F-G) are not connected to the main header of Group 4 (segment D-E). Otherwise it would be a single group.
How to fix this problem?
Typical reasons why branch piping would not be connected to the header piping to form a Tee component in a converted PCF file:
After reviewing the node point coordinates in the original PCF file to be translated, it was determined that there are no points specified on the header pipe for a tee connection. Fix the problem by reviewing the original file in the application that created the PCF file to be sure that the piping is correctly connected.
PCF Translator automatically connects OLET components that are inside the radius of a header pipe, Otherwise, OLET components located outside of that header pipe radius will not be automatically connected by the translation and will need to be manually updated in AutoPIPE.
If branch was a PIPE component, the PCF Translator would automatically connect the branch PIPE component to the header PIPE component so long as the two center lines were touching. Otherwise, if the center lines are not touching they will not be automatically connected by the translation and will need to be manually updated in AutoPIPE.
In some cases the source information would not be available in the PCF file regardless. In such cases, the only way forward is to import the component in with NS (Non-Standard) and make manual updates in AutoPIPE.
