Background

The mxtips annotation files used in the Final Drawings functionality of MX use Microstation text styles. If a user wants custom text styles to match company CAD standards they can add them to the libary file for the text styles (*.dgnlib).

Steps to Accomplish

  1. With MXRoad open and in a project go to MX>File>Close Project. This will leave MXRoad open with just the CAD Platform active.
  2. Go to File>Open and change the drop down to DGN Library files (*.dgnlib) and browse to the folder below and open file PrintPreparation.dgnlib.

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\MX V8i (SELECTSeries 3)\PrintPreparation\Defaults\

  3. With the file open go to Element>Text Styles.

  4. Add the custom test styles are required. As an example I created MX Custom Text

  5. Close the panel when you have added the text styles you require and go to File>Save. Exit the software
  6. Re-open MXRoad in a project and go to Element>Text Styles. You will see that the custom text styles are now part of the default styles in MXRoad.

Note: Be careful not to make any other changes to the DGN Library files (*.dgnlib) when you have it open as it may have undesirable effects in the software.
