Background
Many companies are beginning to use point cloud survey data (i.e lidar) and need to be able to bring this data into MX as a model.
Steps to Accomplish
- Load the Point Cloud (i.e Lidar xyz data) into the display using the Point Cloud tool (File>Point Clouds).

File>attach and change to Say XYZ, then follow through the prompts - Load the Create from Point Cloud Tool from the Terrain Model section of the Tasks panel.

Set the Feature Definitions and Triangulation Options and select
Import.
- The Point Cloud will be converted to a Civil Terrain Element in the file.

Select the Terrain element and on the context tool select the Export to MX option as above. - On the Export Terrain Model panel fill in the model name and triangulation string name.

Follow the prompts to export the terrain element to MX.
