Question:

What are the different ways I can define a Cross Section Annotation Group?

Answer:

First, be sure that the workspace points to a dgnlib that contains an Annotation Group. This wiki walks through how to set that up.

  1. While the Cross Sections are being developed...
  2. If only the Named Boundarys are created…
  3. After the Drawing/Sheet models have been created...

While the Cross Sections are being developed...

  1. Check Create Drawing at the bottom of the first dialog
  2. Select the Annotation Group from the drop down on the Create Drawing dialog.

If only the Named Boundarys are created or you forgot to check Create Drawing…

  1. Be sure a 2D/3D view is open.
  2. Click the Named Boundaries to open the dialog box.
  3. Highlight the "Show the Create Drawing Dialog" button.
  4. Right click on the Cross Section Named Boundary Group and select "Create cross section drawing"
  5. Select the Annotation Group from the drop down
  6. Hit OK.

After the Drawing/Sheet models have been created...

  1. Open a Cross Section Drawing Model.
  2. Click the Model Annotation Command.
  3. Select the Annotation Group ellipses to select the group.
  4. Data point in the view window
