Introduction:  The instructions and video below show how to align an exit number plaque on an overhead sign in OpenRoads SignCAD.

Step 1: Join the Exit Number Plaque to the Overhead Sign. See Joining Panels to Create a Multi-panel - OpenRoads | OpenSite Wiki - OpenRoads | OpenSite - Bentley Communities.

a. Click on Panels>Panel Selection to allow panels to be selected and moved on the workspace.

b. Select the Exit Number Plaque and drag it over the overhead sign panel. Let go of the mouse button when the black blinking line appears on top of the overhead sign panel to join the panels together. If the bottom dimensions on the Exit Number Plaque move above the plaque, then the plaque and overhead sign panel attached successfully as shown below.

Step 2: Select the Exit Number Plaque and pick Properties to see the Rectangular Panel Properties. Scroll down to the MultiPanel section and check the Edit MultiPanel box to display additional MultiPanel properties.

Step 3: Adjust the Exit Number Plaque Alignment.

a. Left-click in the Alignment field and pick the button with the three dots to see the alignment options. The Exit Number Plaque and the overhead sign are in a vertical multi-panel arrangement that can be aligned left, center or right. Notice that the Alignment is currently set to Middle, CenterSelecting the Top, Center or Bottom, Center alignment options will also give the same results since the plaque and overhead sign are in a vertical multi-panel arrangement. If panels are in a horizontal multi-panel arrangement (side-by-side), then the alignment options are top, middle and bottom.

b. Change the Alignment to Middle, Right. Selecting the Top, Right or Bottom, Right alignment options will also give the same results since the plaque and overhead sign are in a vertical multi-panel arrangement.

c. Change the Alignment to Middle, LeftSelecting the Top, Left or Bottom, Left alignment options will also give the same results since the plaque and overhead sign are in a vertical multi-panel arrangement.

Step 4: Set the Dimension As Unit & Lock Arrangement options.

a. Click on the Lock Arrangement box to keep the panels locked together in a multi-panel arrangement. This setting allows you to move the multi-panel on the workspace without the panels unjoining.

b. Click on the Dimension As Unit box to display the multi-panel height dimension (144").

NOTE: If panels are joined together into a horizontal multi-panel arrangement (side-by-side), then selecting Dimension As Unit will display the multi-panel width dimension (126") as shown below.
