Introduction:  The instructions and video below show how to attach two plaques with different alignments to an overhead sign in OpenRoads SignCAD.

Step 1: Join the Exit Number Plaque to the Overhead Sign. See Joining Panels to Create a Multi-panel - OpenRoads | OpenSite Wiki - OpenRoads | OpenSite - Bentley Communities.

a. Click on Panels>Panel Selection to allow panels to be selected and moved on the workspace.

b. Select the Exit Number Plaque and drag it over the overhead sign panel. Let go of the mouse button when the black blinking line appears on top of the overhead sign panel to join the panels together. If the bottom dimensions on the Exit Number Plaque move above the plaque, then the plaque and overhead sign panel attached successfully as shown below.

Step 2: Select the Exit Number Plaque and pick Properties to see the Rectangular Panel Properties. Scroll down to the MultiPanel section and check the Edit MultiPanel box to display additional MultiPanel properties.

Step 3: Adjust the Exit Number Plaque Alignment to Middle, Right. See Aligning Exit Number Plaque on Overhead Sign - OpenRoads | OpenSite Wiki - OpenRoads | OpenSite - Bentley Communities.

a. Left-click in the Alignment field and pick the button with the three dots to see the alignment options.

b. Change the Alignment from Middle, Center to Middle, Right.

Step 4: Add the NO CASH Plaque to the multi-panel.

a. Select the NO CASH Plaque. Notice that the Properties change to the Standard Sign Panel Properties since the NO CASH Plaque was created using the Standard Sign Panel tool. Standard Sign Panels display the selection box in the middle of the panel instead of on the panel corners. See Selecting & Moving a Sign Panel - OpenRoads | OpenSite Wiki - OpenRoads | OpenSite - Bentley Communities for more information.

b. Drag the NO CASH Plaque next to the Exit Number Plaque. Let go of the mouse button when the black vertical blinking line displays on the left of the Exit Number Plaque. The bottom dimensions on the NO CASH Plaque will move to the top of the panel once it is attached as shown below.

Step 5: Adjust the alignment on the NO CASH Plaque.

a. Select the NO CASH Plaque. Scroll down in the Standard Sign Panel Properties and check the Edit MultiPanel box.

b. Click in the Alignment field, press the button with the three dots and change the alignment to Bottom, Left.

Step 6: Set the Lock Arrangement option. Click on the Lock Arrangement box to keep the panels locked together in a multi-panel arrangement. This setting allows you to move the multi-panel on the workspace without the panels unjoining.

NOTE: You can also select the Dimension As Unit box to display the multi-panel height dimension (192") if desired.

The video below shows how to use a panel as a spacer between routing plaques in an overhead panel assembly.
