Introduction:  The instructions and video below show how to copy/paste an image from a pdf file into OpenRoads SignCAD.

An Image can be thought of as a grid of colored dots that provide a nice picture. The colors used on the image are not editable in OpenRoads SignCAD.

Step 1: Open the pdf in Adobe Acrobat Reader and use the Zoom Out and Zoom In tools or enter a scale percent to get the desired image size.

Step 2:  In Adobe Acrobat Reader, pick Edit>More>Take a Snapshot and select the portion of the pdf you want to copy. The selected area will be copied to your clipboard.

Step 3: In OpenRoads SignCAD, create a new file or open an existing file to paste the image file into. Pick General>Paste. 

Step 4: With the Element Selection tool, select the image and pick Properties. In the Image Properties, scale the image.

Step 5: Select and drag the image onto the sign panel and adjust object spacing as desired.
