Overview

The roof construction fabric can be changed as you are adding roof sections.

Method

Once the roof DXF is loaded, the current default roof type will be displayed as type 1. If a different roof type is required, select it from the list before drawing the roof section. In this instance, the first set of roof sections will be drawn using the type 4 roof, so this is set before drawing:

All type 4 roof sections are added to the roof drawing.

The rest of the roof will use construction type 2. As above, this is selected before the roof sections are added.

All the type 2 roods are added to the roof drawing.

This procedure can be carried as many times as necessary to ensure that the correct roof types are employed for the correct section. Once the roof is complete use the Setup Exposed Roofs function to set the roof design into the project.

Once done, you will be able to use the Surfaces option in CAD Input to examine the roof types above a room.

The roof type box DOES NOT indicate what type the existing roof sections are. It indicates what type the next section you draw will be. This will always reset back to type 1 when you go into the Roofs/floors program.

If you wish to override all of your roof section types, you can select a roof type and then push "Change all roof sections" - as with above, however, you will still need to use the Setup Exposed Roofs option to set the changes into your project.
