Problem:

Imported system has disconnected flange on elbow, how to fix this so there is no disconnect?

How to import a model that reduces or fixes these disconnected segments?

Answer:

 When importing a AutoPLANT  / OpenPLANT file into AutoPIPE the following dialog appears:

Enable the check-box for " Join disconnected pipe" and enter a "Connectivity Tollerance" value. see AutoPIPE help for details on these settings. Press OK button to use these values. If the disconnect is within the tolerance it will be automatically connected, as shown below:
