Introduction:  The instructions and video below show how-to join panels to create a multi-panel in OpenRoads SignCAD.

Panels can be attached to other panels to create a multi-panel sign in OpenRoads SignCAD.

Step 1:   Open the File Properties.

a. Click on General>Properties. If no element is selected, the File Properties of the active SGN are shown.

Step 2: Select Outline Mode (B&W).

a. Click on Drawing Preferences>Outline Mode (B&W) to make it easier to see the blinking line on the panel edge when attaching panels together.

Step 3: Enable Panel Selection.

a. Click on Panels>Panel Selection which allows panels to be selected and moved on the workspace.

Step 4: Join the panels together.

a. Select one panel and drag it over to the other panel until the selection hand is overlapping the panel and a blinking line shows on the panel edge.  Let go of the mouse button to join the panels together. If the dimensions move to the outside edge above or below the multi-panel sign, then the panels joined successfully.

Step 5: Lock the Multi-panel and Dimension as Unit.

a. To lock the panels together and dimension the multi-panel sign as a unit, select one of the sign panels and pick Properties. In the Rectangular Panel Properties, click on Multipanel>Edit MultiPanel. Check the Dimension As Unit and Lock Arrangement boxes.

Step 6: Turn Off Outline Mode (B&W).

a. In the File Properties, uncheck Drawing Preferences>Outline Mode (B&W) to see the sign in full color.
