Question:

Is there a way to define the exact point associated with the displayed elevation as a decimal?

Answer:

On the Advanced tab of the Surface > View Surface > Surface Elevations command, if the "Align With" option is set to "Decimal", the decimal point displayed will represent the exact elevation. To align the point with the decimal, you must use a fixed-width font.
