How to troubleshoot the system error “A file appears to be locked”?


This error typically occurs when the Postvue database is open but can occur in other situations. 

Please check to make sure that no files are read only. In Windows Explorer right-click the files or folder, select properties, and check to see if any files have the Read-only attribute. Also, try restarting your computer. Sometimes a file can get locked by a process and won't unlock unless the process is closed. You can try finding the process in Windows Task Manager, but restarting the computer could be a cleaner solution.
