Overview

In this wiki will learn how to deactivate or make a loglink as an inactive one. This option becomes useful when one wants to have protection from unwanted editing.

Suppose, you have one link type as End Plate connection. If you Deactivate the loglink from the shape properties, the unwanted changes done in the connection will not reflect in the model until one makes that loglinks active.

Please refer the steps below to get more clarification.

Method

1. For e.g., here we are considering column-beam End plate connection which contains two loglinks separately from beam and column. (if they are not grouped)

2. Now to deactivate the loglinks, in this case go to the PS Properties of both beam and column. Under the modifications>loglinks, uncheck the ‘Active’ loglinks option which we will deactivate the loglink.

3. Now, after deactivating loglink, if one tries to make changes in the connection/link type then it will not update in the model and protect the link from unwanted changes.
