Problem

Invalid Font Config, MstnFontConfig.xml

An error dialog - with error message: "Invalid Font Config:
_path_to_MstnFontConfig.xml" - shows up at first time start of Microsta
tion V8i (please see attached picture).
Microstation will crash and exit back to operating system.

Solution

Uninstalling all .Net Framework 2.0 and 3.5 versions (including updates)
and re-installing the correct pre-requisite pack resolves the problem.

Problem is caused by the presence of .Net Framework 3.5 or 3.5 SP1 or
.Net Framework 2.0 or 2.0 SP1 prior to installation of relevant
pre-requisites pack, which are non-compatible with pre-requisites
installation on certain PCs.
