Error: A problem was detected with the Microsoft Access Database Engine installation...... Promis.e

Background:

The user may get the below Error Message when they launch Promis.e CONNECT. This Error message indicates that recently an update related to Microsoft Office might be installed on the machine, which might have impacted the Access Database Engine installed on the machine which is essential for Promis.e CONNECT. 



Steps to Accomplish

This issue can be resolved by two method as below. 
1. Uninstall Microsoft Office 2016 update KB5002226.
2. Uninstall & Reinstall Access Database Engine.
3. Changing Registry Value (This is optional method of the above two methods dont resolve the issue)


1. Uninstall Microsoft Office 2016 Update KB5002226

a. In Windows Start Search, search for "Check for Update" and click on the icon. 




b. Next click on Uninstall Update search for the Microsoft Office Update KB5002226, select it and click on Uninstall




2. Uninstall & Reinstall Access Database Engine.


a. In Windows Start Search, search for "Control Panel" and click on the icon. 




b. In Control Panel click on Programs and Features and then search for Access Database Engine. select Access Database Engine 2016 and click on Uninstall.

c. Re-install Access Database Engine 2016 using the below Windows Link or the communities to download the installer file.

3. Changing Registry Value (This is optional method of the above two methods dont resolve the issue)


Follow the details on below Microsoft link for details on Registry Value to be modified. 

Note: Please make a backup of the Registry before making any changes incase if the files need to be returned to earlier configuration. Also it is better to take help from the IT Department you do not have much experience working with Registry Files.
