I know, really basic modeling question...
i have the edge of a driveway. I want to slope downward at 4:1 (33.33%) and generate a feature wherever that would hit existing ground. I thought it would be in Longitudinal feature, but I'm having trouble figuring out the right combination of options.
Horizontal: Project Slope to Surface sounds like the option I want, but it seems to use the slope between two existing elements. I can't find a place to set a slope.
Vertical: Drape also sounds promising, but I still have the issue of the horizontal placement (it goes wherever it goes, not some set distance).
What am I missing? or am I even looking at the right tool?
Thank you.
Yes, Mark is correct. You want the Surface>Design Surface>Generate Sloped Surface tool. This tool allows you to select the intercept surface, the slope desired, and the surface that will be created or added to. Try the "Generate Graphics Only" option first and follow the MicroStation command prompts to get visual verification of your surface before actually creating surface features.
The pendant in me has to say 4:1 = 25% (3:1 = 33.33%). :-)
I think the 'Generate Sloped Surface' tool may do what you want. (I am not a IR full time user, but hopefully I am sending you in the right direction.)
