Please note that unless you do an Updated Mesh analysis, the calculation never takes the past displacements and strains into account but always calculates with respect to the undeformed mesh. So in that respect, it makes no difference whether you reset displacements or not. If you do use an Updated Mesh analysis (which is NOT the default) and you would reset displacements, you would actually get a warning that that might not be a good idea.
