Hello all,
We have been asked in a RFP to prepare a mechanical piping model using Autodesk REVIT MEP. We have Revit MEP and AutoCAD MEP licenses in the office, but we only use it for 3D electrical equipment and HVAC sheet metal layouts. Our office standard is to use Bentley Autoplant for 3D piping layouts. We need to know if anyone has converted or if it is even possible to convert a Bentley Autoplant 3D piping model to IFC compliant format so that we can import it into Revit with the drawing/model intelligence intact. The only work around we know of is to convert the model into an ACIS solids representation and then bring it into Revit - but this model has no intelligence - i.e. a 6" 90 deg. LR elbow is just a dumb solid block, it cannot tell the line size or line number or type of fitting, etc. Any helpful answers, tips or directions would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.
