I wish to seek clarification about how RAM SS calculates live load reduction for columns through an example.

Suppose if we have a multistory building with 2-way decks supported by continuous columns. If we assign a live load reduction of 20% at 1st-floor columns, does it mean that the live load reduction would be applied to only the portion of the tributary area of the 1st-floor deck? Or does RAM SS calculate the total unreduced live load coming on the column from all the stories above it and apply a 20% reduction to all of it?
