Does a Graphic card have a direct affect on the speed of a STAAD structural analysis?

My user went from a 8 year old desktop with dedicated video card to a new laptop with onboard card.  His old system was running analysis on a test case sub-10 minutes , the new system 18 for ss6 and 23 for CE!

Any suggestions on improving the speed?
