Hi,
I got a few question relating to Parts List / Bill of Materials on microstation drawings.
Currently we create tables manually, but the problem we have then is that we don't know what parts are used on what drawings, so if we change a part we have to go through every single drawing to find out what drawings that part is on.
- Is there some smart way of creating BOMs in Microstation? Ideally a way that would allow me to run a report from ProjectWise of all the drawings that contain a specific part. Similar to what AutoCad has (link)
Alternatively, is it possible to have a table that imports the list from a subset of an excel spreadsheet? e.g. if I have an excel table like the one below, can I create a table in microstation that links to the subset of the where Drawing No = 123-456? I know I can create a table and specify that the Range (B2:E4) but if rows are added or deleted in the excel file that link becomes incorrect.
A | B | C | D | E | |
1 | Drawing No: | Item | Quantity | Part Number | Part Description |
2 | 123-456 | 1 | 3 | A-1 | M12 Bolt |
3 | 123-456 | 2 | 3 | A-4 | M12 Washer |
4 | 123-456 | 3 | 1 | A-7 | M12 Nut |
5 | 123-789 | 1 | 2 | A-1 | M12 Bolt |
6 | 123-789 | 2 | 1 | A-4 | M12 Washer |
