Help needed for importing Trimble survey information to MXRoad.

Ongoing major works programs have allowed my employer (Local Authority, UK) to invest in a Trimble S7 total station, TSC3 survey controller and Trimble Data Centre software.  We have not been able to utilise this equipment as efficiently as I believe can be achieved.

Could a walkthrough be provided in use of Trimblelink extension in MXRoads to allow us to import survey information directly?  Or any method that can be suggested to make our surveying process more efficient?  We currently have a work around by using a convertor created in-house over a decade previous which converts .job files to .inp which, after some amendment, can be used to create a topographical model.

It seems we can bring the information into MX however there doesn't seem to be any survey features or strings (channel lines, kerb lines etc) only a series of disconnected points.  We are unsure if a common feature definition library required, and if so, where to start in the creation of one.  From reading similar posts it seems state roads dept. in the USA issue such files.  As far as I am aware no such standard feature definition file is provided by UK institutions.

Any help on this matter would be very welcome.

Thanks
