Creating or Exporting a .prj file

I have my design file elements with an assigned Geographic Coordinate System. I am able to export the shapes out but a prj file is not in the directory with the shape files. This makes the shape files useless without coordinates. How do I create the prj file for them?

I do not have a database setup. This is in MicroStation and I am accessing Map via the Geopak Applications drop down. A search in the help and Google, plus the site here, has not been very productive and any assistance you can provide would be great.

MicroStation SS3 08.11.09.578

Map 08.11.09.107

Accepted Solution

The default library is being used for the GCS. Wyoming NAD83 East to be precise.
Steps used, Applications menu and activate Map. Then File > Export > GIS Data Types.
Select the Export node, right-click and choose New Export, export 1 is created.
Issue a right-click on the Export1 node and select Add Shapefile directory from the pop-up menu.
From the Add Directory dialog and set the path. Then expand Export1 to reveal the data sources in the design.
Keep selected items, deselect others and then right-click on Export1 and select Export from the pop-up menu.

Strange, but I re-ran it again this morning, before clicking on the Reply button, and it worked. Before I just got the shape files. Thank you for your reply.
