hi guys hope you're doing fine

am just curious about : why there is an explicit and implicit solver?

isn't the implicit is the best one what ever ?

why modified rational method wont run on explicit ? and work on implicit

and thank  you

Hello Nei,

Explicit solver is there to support EPA Stormwater Management Model version 5 (SWMM) i.e. SWMM models, ofter users import models created in EPA-SWMM into SewerGEMS, so explicit solver can be used in that case.

Implicit solver is Bentley's own implicit solver, which is tends to be more stable with pumping situations and when you need to study dynamic routing of flood hydrographs.

Here is information about differences between different solvers.

Differences between solvers: GVF-Convex vs. GVF-Rational vs. Implicit vs. Explicit (SWMM)
