CONNECT- Dim Extension line behavior changed from v8i

Since I started working in OCNNECT over the past few weeks I have been working with the dimensioning tools. I found an issue wit hone of the settings that behaves different from the way it functioned in v8i.

We have standard dimension styles in a .dgnlib and text styles in a .dgnlib. For the dimension styles we normally have <Geometry <Extension Lines disabled. A lot of our dimensions are between roadway features and they are not needed. When we dimension typical sections, details & cross sections we use the extension lines. For many years I have been experimenting with various settings so I do not need to drop dimension elements to individual elements.

When I am dimensioning I like to enable the extension lines in the dim styles dialog, but turn off the left & right extension lines in the tool settings. The idea is that I sometimes need to move a dimension from a point where extension lines were not necessary to a position where they are necessary. In my experience, if you do not have the extension lines enabled on the Geometry tab in the dim style dialog Prior to placing the dimension then you could not enable them after the dimension is placed.

This method worked in v8i. As long as I had the extension lines enabled in the dimension style dialog, but disabled in the tool settings I could use the Change Dimension tool, go to the Advanced tab and enable one or both extension lines.

In CONNECT it no longer works that way. If you have extension lines enabled in the dim style, disabled in the tool settings you cannot go to the change dimension tool and enable the extension lines on the Advanced tab. If you use the Match Dimension tool and select the dimension you placed the <Extension Lines <Enable checkbox becomes unchecked.

One good thing is that there is an old key-in (from this thread https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/w/askinga/863/quickly-turn-on-off-extension-lines) that still works, even if you did not have enable extension lines check on prior to placement.

SO why does this setting not work in this manner any longer? Why are there settings in the Advanced tab that do not work. A lot of these settings have never worked to change the dimensions after placement.

I am attaching a video that shows the v8i behavior vs the CONNECT behavior. I like having the key-in available, but can't we get the Dimension Styles dialog setting to work with the Change Dimension tools????
