Tributary Load on Slab Opening

Hello,

I am working on a school project, so I am not experienced, just to be clear. But I have a slab openings on my floors for stairwells and elevators in the RAM modeler. However, my understanding is that RAM won't apply floor loads where there are slab openings by default, but I actually do want floor loads from the stairwells/elevators to be sure that I can attribute some stress from those areas to the beams which support their perimeter. At the same time, I want to explicitly show in my model that there are openings at those locations.

How may I still attribute loads to my beams from areas of slab openings? Not slab loads, but the appropriate floor live loads at least. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Regards,

CJW

Most people add line loads to the walls around the opening.
