The following outline identifies new features and enhancements in the AutoPIPE Vessel 2024 (45.00.00.133).

  • Enhancements
    • General
      • Model (.emvd) version handling. From now on backward compatibility is assured by having the option to save in an older model version. In this new release, only conversion between version 6 (v45) and 5.2 (v44) is possible, other versions will be added depending on future developments. For older software versions (v43 and before), 5.2 should be chosen. Version 6 is only compatible with v45 software onwards.
    • Codes/Standards Update
      • ASME 2023 Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code - Section VIII, Div.1 & Div.2 (ONLY calculations update, material update coming soon in next update).
      • French Design Code CODAP 2022 update.
      • Implementation of NB/T47041 Seismic load, par. 7.5 for vertical vessel on skirt as per Chinese standard.
      • EN 1092-1:2018 Flange standard update.
    • Interoperability
      • Generate DWG drawings without AutoCAD/BricsCAD. Users do not need AutoCAD/BricsCAD license anymore to generate .dwg drawing files. image [Technology Preview]
      • Added support for AutoCad 2024 export.
      • Option to export to AutoCAD 2017 to 2018 versions discontinued. Export to AutoCAD 2019 versions or newer are only supported.
      • Option to export to SolidWorks 2010 through 2017 versions discontinued. Export to SolidWorks 2018 through 2023 versions are only supported.
      • Implementation of Chinese saddle standards based on NBT 47065.1-5 2018 (3D MicroStation and 3D IFC).
    • User Interface
      • Replacing tabbed dialog boxes with wizards for creating new models (Pressure Vessels and Heat Exchangers).
      • "File > Open" Dialog updated to allow quick access to example folder, config folder and working directory.

  • Defects
NOTE: Problems described below represent specific issues with specific test cases. It is difficult to succinctly describe a problem and how it impacted the specific test case. If you have any questions about the issues discussed in this report, please contact technical support.
    • Calculation / Report
      • #1081749: CODAP - Skirt Junction - Interpretation of gamma angle is incorrect.
      • #1083899: Limpet Coil - Di formula printed is incorrect in the report.
      • #1110533: Flat Head - CODAP - C3.2.2.5 Exceeded values are not shown in red in the Report.
      • #1327109: ASME Half-Pipe Jackets - The maximum permissible pressure must always be calculated with the inside diameter of the inner vessel.
      • #1327166: ASME VIII Div.1 - Multiple Openings with self-reinforcing (program could be stuck indefinitely on assumed opening calculation).
      • #1327190: Lifting Lug Checking - CoG location issue when the tailing lug is located above the skirt.
      • #1332304: Limpet Coil - ASME Div 1 and Div2: scope of application of K should be restricted.
      • #1332496: Heat Exchangers - MAP is not calculated nor can be imposed.
      • #1340586: EN 13445 16.12.5 Anchoring on conical skirt - Calculation gets stuck (infinite loop).
      • #1341878: ASME UW-16(c) - Weld sizes check : MAP condition lead unexpected warning message.
      • #1344402: Saddles - "Shell Wall's Thickness" wear plate option does not work and the weight may be incorrect if modified during the optimization process.
      • #1378719: Heat Exchanger - Backing flange chamber number is not retrieved.
      • #1379386: CODAP Fatigue Analysis - Flange on Nozzle: resistance class and stress index are wrong.
      • #1401170: ASME Fatigue Analysis - Equations (3-F.1/6/9/15/18) (Y-value) issue.
      • #1233577: Lifting accessories - crash when accessories are outside of the vessel.
      • #1377643: Reverse heat exchanger - channel nozzles might be moved onto shell when no location set.
      • #999192: Program crashes when a tray is on a flange.
      • #641358: EN 13445 - Stiffener material not fully defined leads to crash the calculation.
      • #641476: Earthquake (large conical shell) - sum of mass doesn't match the foundation load mass.
      • #640836: Lugs on transition head have a Render 3D issue and they are not calculated.
      • #1009438: Report - Vessel on Saddles - Add explanation about longitudinal bending moment (Foundation loads).
      • #1106375: Report - CODAP - Skirt Junction's geometrical restrictions are not in red when not respected.
