Hi,
We have various users using Microstation V8, XM and V8i. I have to administer and help them remotely. The problem I'm experiencing is I can see everything, except for the Graphics in the View of Microstation. So the Tools, Desktop, everything is there, except what you've drawn. This happens with the following Remote Desktop applications:
Ultra VNC
Real VNC
Radmin
When using Bomgar, I can see the graphics fine, but Bomgar is not very practical.
The Host PC's have mostly nVidia Quadro Screencards with various versions of drivers.
The OS on all the PC's is Win XP (Mix of SP2 and SP3)
The VNC Mirror Drivers are installed
Does anyone have the same problem? Any ideas on how to sort this out will be appreciated.
Thank you in advance
PS. Sorry about the lack of detail at the beginning. It seems the editor didn't like IE9 64-Bit, and left the post blank. Had to edit it in earlier version.
It seems the problem is the mirror driver. I disabled the "Optimize screen capture(hooks)", which relates to the mirror driver. Now the graphics display correctly.
Thanks for the feedback
First thing that springs to mind is graphics card. I use Remote Desktop Connection all the time without issue, but have had issues with lesser graphics cards.
Hi Loftey,
UltraVNC, RealVNC do not suppot "DirectX Graphic Windows" and the microstation views are DX-Windows since XM!. I'm using "Teamviewer" this will work.
If you are looking for remote assistance or demonstration solution, Join.Me is a very good FREE solution.

Hi Bear,
I'm using a PC with a good nVidia Graphics card. I'm sure RDP will work fine, but then the user can't see what I'm doing. I know there's a way past that, but it's complicated.
Have you tried any other Remote Desktop Software?
Thanks
Thank you Frank for clearing that up. I will give Teamviewer a go.
I noticed it looks different in every version. In some versions they refer to the 'Hook driver". In that Property Window, try unticking "Video Hook Driver" and let us know.
Regards,
Loftey
Where have you found this option in Realvnc or ultravnc? I can only see these for the mirror driver for ultravnc.
We have the same issue here, even with very good NVIDIA graphic cards!
If the user has 2 displays, we can move the Application Window from the 1st to the 2nd display and VOILÁ, the draw come up as usual.
But to those ones with just one display, we can´t see the draw inside the Application Window on the Microstation XM!!!
And this is happening ONLY in client machines with WinXP. Using Remote Assistance from Win7 to Win7 everything is ok!
We didn´t realize what is happening yet!!!
Any help will be welcome!!
Cheers!
