Problem Description
In OpenPlant PID, user wants to modify tag numbers in exported Excel sheet and import it back to the Data Manager. In this article, steps are defined on How to import EXCEL modified tags in Data Manager.
Step to Resolve
- Launch Data Manager.
- Expand Views and select any View. Here, Equipment list View.

- Go to File-> Export, select Access , Excel and click OK.


- Save your Excel Worksheet. (You can define path location to save this file), Here, we are saving it in Plant V8i.

- Select View from the list. Here, Equipment List, click OK and minimize Data Manager.


- Open saved excel sheet (EQUIP.xls)

- Make changes in required field. Here we are defining changes in Description (EDESC) and save the file.

Note: Column name from Excel sheet should match with Data Manager Field
- Open Data Manager, go to File -> Import ->Tagged data and select Access, Excel


- Select EQUIP.xls from the location, select Open and click OK


- Verify Description in Equipment List.
