Background

 

In Bentley Raceway and Cable Management CONNECT Edition Update 9, the Cable Manager has a new ribbon menu interface. The new user interface is well-organized visual interface that offers fewer clicks and more efficient workflows.
This article describes the features of the Cable Manager for enhanced cable routing functionalities.

Steps To Accomplish-

1. Launch Bentley Raceway and Cable Management and open Routing,dgn file.




2. Click the Cable Manager button in the Equipment and Cables tab -> Cables ribbon group.



3.Click on Collaboration Manager and right click, Select All and choose Request lock to include all the resources.

4.Cables are loaded in the Cable Manager. The Cable Manager consists of a ribbon interface with property panels displaying cable properties, equipment properties and routing properties of the cables.
Cables can be selected individually by clicking on the checkbox corresponding to each cable, while all the cables can be selected by clicking the check box at the topmost row.


5.By clicking on a cable, the related cable, equipment and routing properties can be displayed in the Properties Panel.


6. Cable manager has color coding for different cable lengths.
The orthogonal length obtained after auto-connect is displayed in Black.
The routed length obtained after automatic-routing is displayed in Green.
The 3D cable length obtained after creating 3D cable is displayed in Blue.



7. Flags are displayed for each cable depicting the cable status.




8. The cables available in the cable manager can be grouped based on the column header by dragging any column header and placing the header in the row above the column header entries.



For instance, cables can be grouped by the Device, Connection point and other column headers.



9. Based on the grouping, Custom views can be created and saved.
For instance for grouping by voltage level, custom view ‘Voltage’ can be created.



10. The saved views can be switched as per requirement from the Default view.
