How to Enable Elbow Grid Selection Dialog box during AutoFitting placement in OpenPlant Modeler CONN

Background

In OpenPlant Modeler CE, User is able to place the elbow through autofitting rule defined directly during modeling Piping.But User is not able to select exact type of Elbow which need to be placed.As shown in below small video.It gets placed directly.If other schedule Elbow need to placed then it need to be done Manually.


In above small video Victaulic spec has been used for demonstrating the requirement.

This wiki will help you to enable the grid selection during elbow placement such that required type of Elbow can be placed during piping modeling and no need of manually placing.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch OpenPlant Modeler CE U9



  2. Consider OpenPlantMetric Workset, Go to Searh and type Configuration Variable.
    As soon as Configuration Variable window is launched, Type Elbow and select variable OPM_ AUTOFITTING _ SELECTION_GRID_FOR_ELBOW
     


    And which has been in default has been disabled i.e OPM_ AUTOFITTING _ SELECTION_GRID_FOR_ELBOW= 0.
     
  3. Double click on 0 to edit  and make it 1 i.e OPM_ AUTOFITTING _ SELECTION_GRID_FOR_ELBOW= 1.


     
  4. After making the changes in Configuration Variable kindly restart OPM CE U9 and again place the Pipeline it can be notice that during placement of Elbow you will have the option of different type based on Grid window popped up. 
    Note- If for a particular size there multiple records like for Long Radius available in spec then it would not work.


    Thus During piping modeling fitting wrt Elbow can be selected with required specification based on Grid Popped up through the new introduced variable.
