Configuration to send email notifications post alarm acknowledgement


Problem

The below error occurs when user configures the client for sending email notification post alarm acknowledgement without setting the "SMTP ENABLE TLS" option :

Error <unknown> Ivara.Mail.SmtpPlugin.SmtpMessage [22] SmtpMessage::Send() - exception thrown EXCEPTION OCCURRED:SmtpException Server does not support secure connections.    at System.Net.Mail.SmtpConnection.GetConnection(ServicePoint servicePoint)
   at System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient.GetConnection()
   at System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient.Send(MailMessage message)
   at Ivara.Mail.SmtpPlugin.SmtpMessage.Send(Boolean bAutoSend)

Error <unknown> Ivara.Client.Callbacks.ClientEmail [22] ClientEmail::Execute() - Unable to send email

Solution

To fix the above error, go to Settings Editor of the instance configured for sending email notification post alarm acknowledgement. Go to Advanced Settings under File menu.
Now in Server Email Settings, set "SMTP Enable TLS" option to False.
