Saved searches can be created from any grid. Typically you will want to use a filter or grouping to ask a question of the data, and then save it. When you bring the saved search back up from the menu, it is the exact same gride you created for the saved search originally.
Saved searches are dynamic, which means as data is entered, if they meet the criteria of the saved search, they are added to the results. This is especially useful if the project is large, and data coming in over an extended period of time.
Once saved you can view locations in the search on the map. Saved searches are also available to all who are in that project if the saved search is made public. Suddenly you have a spatial representation of the results, and may be able to identify areas of interest on the map that otherwise you could not see.
Creating Saved searches (and locations Groups) can be done from the Grid or map, as described here:

So what does this mean? It gives you a chance to filter and query data. It is a chance to get to know your data with out re-entering it several times. Some filters may be successful, and some you wish to save to revisit, evaluate, and modify.
You can set criteria such as N-values <5 at depths> 10' in looking for a soft zone.
Or a CH at depths of 15-20 feet.
Or a moisture content > 25% at depths < 15' as shown below.
You can ask critical questions you may want to ask that can and do vary project to project based on project type or conditions.
With the mapped represetaion you have an idea on areas you want to zoom in on once you create a 3D model in Leapfrog or other applicaiton.
Saved searches can also be exported in to CSV data format if you wish to refine them further in Excel.
Dashboards in Power BI can further refine initial questions asked in Saved Searches.
Saved Searches and mapping are not comprehensive tools to complete a site evaluation. But they are great tools to begin leaning your site, and understanding conditions before and even during an in depth design analysis and review.
